The Platinum Eagle is the elite coin of all American Eagles. The U.S. Mint first struck Platinum Eagles in 1997. Platinum Eagles are struck in $25 quarter Troy ounce, $50 half Troy
ounce and $100 Troy ounce sizes. Platinum Eagles have some of the lowest mintages of all current U.S. coins, making them highly collectible, particularly those graded MS69 and MS70 by PCGS and NGC. The
Proof Platinum Eagles have a reverse design that changes every year.
