$10 gold coins from the U.S. Mint are called Eagles, because of the Eagle on the reverse. $10 Liberty Gold Eagles were designed by Christain Gobrecht and minted between 1838 and 1907. They were struck
at the Philadelphia, New Orleans, Denver and San Francisco Mints. Those struck at the New Orleans Mint are the toughest to find. At nearly a half-ounce of gold, these big coins are hefty examples of 19th Century vintage
American gold coins and are a great addition to any collection.
